The use of smartphones is increasing day by day, the security risk is also increasing at the same rate. At present, the most popular and most used mobile operating system is Android.

The OS accounts for three-quarters of the global smartphone market, but users are often infected with a variety of malware. Today there is a detailed discussion for the readers.

How to understand if you have been infected

Understand whether you have been infected in the same way that if a virus or malware attacks Android, some common issues are observed.

For example: displaying ads, slow phone work, unwanted applications being installed, fast charging, etc. There are several ways to remove malware if infected.

What to do if infected:

  • Go to the installed app option from the phone's settings to see if there are any unwanted apps in the list. If there is, you have to uninstall it.
  • If the uninstall option doesn't work, go to Device Administration Options from Settings and turn off the 'Admin Access' option. Then go to the re-installed app option and uninstall the unwanted app.
  • If a browser is infected, you need to uninstall and reinstall the browser.

In many cases these methods solve the problem. If this method is not resolved, the phone will have to be factory reset.

In this way all the data stored on the phone will be deleted. In many cases malware remains even after resetting the phone, then there is no way but to install a new operating system on the phone.

This can be done by the brand and model itself or can be repaired from an approved service center.

Ways to survive the attack:

'Prevention is better than cure'. It is easy to stay safe if you take some precautions.

Malware attacks Android by installing applications from any medium other than the Play Store. So some precautions can be taken.

  • All applications installed from the Play Store.
  • Refrain from installing apps through sharing from third party application stores or anyone else's phone.
  • Install all other updates including security updates.
  • Avoid flashy ads when using the internet.
  • Don't click on any unwanted links.
